How happy does your website make its visitors?
Probably no idea. But happy visitors become customers. The Website Happiness Tester reads the words on your website and scores them in 30 seconds.
Any public page works. We read the words, nothing else.

Words about yourself
“We have a lot of experience.” · “That is why I know what’s best.” · “Our experts know everything.” · “Ask us anything.”
Found on your website
Words for your customer
“Are you experiencing…” · “Overcome your problem with…” · “This home is yours when…” · “It will help you…”
Found on your website
If you want to score 100%, your words need to be 100% in category 2.
That’s it. That’s the trick. Very easy, but also very profound. Here is why.
Uncle Jim at the party
Imagine being at a party. Uncle Jim is there. He’s a nice guy, but the problem is: he only talks about himself. That’s fine for a few minutes, but if you never get a question, or never get a chance to share your story, it gets annoying. You feel disconnected and you want to leave. If the words on your website fall into category 1, your visitors experience your website as an Uncle Jim. They really want to leave.
What to do on Monday morning
- Open your homepage and mark every word about yourself: we, us, our, I, my. Your score above tells you how many there are.
- Rewrite each one into a sentence about your customer. “We build software for logistics” becomes “You ship on time, every time.”
- Check every headline first. Headlines get read ten times more than body text, so they move your score the most.
- Do the same for your customer service replies, your brochures and your sales deck. One voice, everywhere.
It forces you to think about how your product improves the life of your visitor. And if you succeed in helping visitors, they get hungry for more. That is exactly what you need if you want to grow your business.
Aligning every word at every touchpoint is complex.
Your website, your customer service, your funnel, your brochures, your sales people. Everything. But never let your marketing and sales get in the way of onboarding new customers. Message me on LinkedIn and I will walk through your result with you and show you what to change first.
Bjorn Wamelink · KLAPPRHow this is measured
Your page is fetched as plain text and every word is checked against two lists: words about yourself (we, us, our, I, my) and words about your customer (you, your, yours). Your score is the ratio between the two. More customer words than company words puts you above 40. Ten times more puts you at 100.
The page text is fetched through the public reader service r.jina.ai so your browser can read it. KLAPPR stores nothing. Reload the page and your result is gone.
Whoa. Too much happiness at once.
The word counter is out of breath. It reads 20 websites a minute and that ceiling has just been hit. Probably by you, testing every competitor you could think of. Respect.
Don’t feel like waiting? Bjorn reads your website himself, by hand and for free, and he spots the things no word counter ever will.
